As part of their science studies, Form 6 spent an interesting day at the Royal Institution making and testing shampoo. First they carried out experiments to test the viscosity, formability and pH of a range of commercial shampoos. Carefully following a ‘recipe’, they then made their own shampoos. Some brave girls have already tested their shampoo with sparkling results. Read More

Natural World Experience

Reception enjoyed a visit by Paul. They held a lot of mini-beasts, including a tarantula spider, a hissing cockroach, a giant snail and a silk moth. Paul also brought some reptiles into the classroom and shared his knowledge about them. In the afternoon Form 4 joined Reception for a bug hunt. Read More

Year 1D Fantasy Assembly

Year 1 produced a play based on their learning about fantasy writing in English and their love of Enid Blyton’s “The Enchanted Wood”. The play’s fantasy adventure started in the imaginations of a group of school children, and took them to a magic tree full of friendly folk and a land of scary pirates at the top. The children thoroughly enjoyed presenting this play to their parents and the whole school. Read More

Sports Day

The weather gods were certainly shining on us as the annual Chiswick & Bedford Park Sports Day was graced with the hottest day of 2014. The day was a great success with some old favourites such as egg & spoon, sack race and sprinting alongside some new events, such as the tennis ball balance, the bean bag relay and the long distance race over a new improved course. Animation Day

On Wednesday, 11th June Form 1 was immersed in the world of animated films. Laura and Daniel showed the children four different kinds of animation and, in teams, they produced wonderful films based on their English topic of “Fantasy”. Read More

Odds Farm

Reception enjoyed a day at Odds Farm. We watched Zebedee the Jersey cow being milked, bottle-fed the goats and stroked the rabbits. We had a ride on a tractor and on our journey through the fields we spotted a baby donkey and some piglets. Read More

Science Workshop

Professor Sam and “Frank” visited Form 1 to explain and explore all about light and shadows. The children were enthralled and delighted with the Exploratorium and helped Professor Sam to get it to work again. Their knowledge and enthusiasm ensured that scientific research will continue to grow and thrive! Read More
