170 children, 170 different skin tones!
We learnt that we are all a shade of brown and that, even within our family (twins included), our skin tones are different. In preparation for this project every class read books on skin colour and kindness and got involved in age-appropriate discussions.
We considered the variety of skin colours and what creates this diversity. We all examined our arms, looking carefully the way artists do, and talked about tones before mixing up a unique pot of paint that matches our own skin colour, to use for this amazing school-wide art project,
We learnt that what makes us all the same is that we are all different.
