Our Artist of the Month for May 2022 is the Wisconsin-born artist Georgia O’Keeffe.
Born in 1887, O’Keeffe studied at the Art Institute of Chicago before her first gallery show in 1916. With a varied and colourful mix of closeup floral and landscape paintings, O’Keefees innovative angles and eye for detail resulted in a career than spanned decades, and has seen her widely thought of as a pioneer of American modernism.
