On Thursday 1st November, parents from year groups 1 and 2 were invited to attend a maths workshop. Aimed at developing a collaborative approach to mathematics between school and home, teachers from these years talked through different techniques and strategies used in the classroom that can also be applied when at home. We are delighted to have received an overwhelmingly positive response for this first event, with feedback including the below comments:
- “Thank you so much for organising the workshop. I found it very helpful…”
- “Really helpful to understand about the importance of place value, counting in fives and tens, counting backwards etc. Also loved seeing the resources that are used”.
- “Excellent resources. Impressive teachers. Thoroughly enjoyed”.
- Really useful session – now have a clearer understanding of how Maths is being taught and how we can help at home”.
We would like to thank all those parents who attended, as well as everyone who sent us their very helpful feedback and hope to welcome parents again to another similar event in the future.
