This Saturday the CBPPS community are taking part in a sponsored walk for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
Parents, if you don’t have a sponsor form please contact your parent rep.
We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
This week we have two classes out on activity weeks! Whilst Year 6 are enjoying a week on the Isle of Wight at PGL, Year 5 are taking part in their own adventurous trip to Sayers Croft in Hampshire. So far the class have been orienteering through the woodland, used team building skills to complete a blindfolded maze and navigated the (very) high ropes with great enthusiasm.
We can’t wait to hear what exciting activities they take part in next!
This week Year 6 is having a fantastic time taking part in a range of outdoor activities at the PGL Little Canada Centre on the Isle of Wight. So far the class have embarked on an obstacle course, taken on the challenge of building a shelter in the rain and been orienteering in the woodland.

Our Artist of the Month for May 2022 is the Wisconsin-born artist Georgia O’Keeffe.
Born in 1887, O’Keeffe studied at the Art Institute of Chicago before her first gallery show in 1916. With a varied and colourful mix of closeup floral and landscape paintings, O’Keefees innovative angles and eye for detail resulted in a career than spanned decades, and has seen her widely thought of as a pioneer of American modernism.
We look forward to sharing photographs of the children’s Georgia O’Keeffe-inspired artwork on our social media pages throughout the month!
With a newly refurbished playground and hot on the heels of our Earth Day activities, we were very pleased to launch the CBPPS Gardening Club this week! At our first club we focused on watering and weeding the flowerbeds before sketching the many lovely plants that brighten up the front playground. As we progress through the term we will be learning about the names and properties of the plants at school, and taking part in different outdoor activities such as planting and classifying.
It’s Earth Day every day at Chiswick & Bedford Park!
We will be sharing highlights from our different clubs through the term on our Instagram and Twitter pages.
Summer term has started which means it’s time for summer clubs!
Our before and after school activities are starting back this week and we have some exciting new additions this term:
Our continuing clubs include:
For the first time since 2019 the whole school took part in the annual Easter bonnet parade and service.
Nursery, Reception and Year 1 all did an absolutely amazing job designing and making their bonnets for the parade (with a special mention to all the parents who helped!) and the choir along with Years 4, 5 and 6 performed a medley of poems, readings and songs.
On Friday 18th March pupils, parents and staff got baking and buying to raise over £800 for charity.
To celebrate their birthday one of our Year 2 pupils wanted to raise money to support child refugees and help the charity Safe Passage. The charity supports displaced and unaccompanied children seeking asylum.
The playground was decorated for the event with over a hundred colourful paper flowers which were made by pupils last week to celebrate women that inspire them as part of our International Women’s Day celebrations.
Children, teachers and parents enjoyed buying homemade baked goods in the front playground after school, and we couldn’t have been prouder of our school community for organising this event for such an important cause. Thank you to all that took part.
