Pupil-led fundraiser raise over £800!

By All School News

On Friday 18th March pupils, parents and staff got baking and buying to raise over £800 for charity.

To celebrate their birthday one of our Year 2 pupils wanted to raise money to support child refugees and help the charity Safe Passage. The charity supports displaced and unaccompanied children seeking asylum.

The playground was decorated for the event with over a hundred colourful paper flowers which were made by pupils last week to celebrate women that inspire them as part of our International Women’s Day celebrations.

Children, teachers and parents enjoyed buying homemade baked goods in the front playground after school, and we couldn’t have been prouder of our school community for organising this event for such an important cause. Thank you to all that took part.

Science Week 2022

By All School News

Wow, what a jammed-packed Science Week this March! We have been visited by a variety of guest speakers including a doctor, a surgeon and an engineer who gave the classes a unique insight into their specific STEM-related fields.

In science lessons the children have been making bubbles, designing and making Martians and building fantastic magnetic games. At home, pupils have been decorating ‘growth’ posters, with winners of the poster competition to be announced next week.

The team from Inventors and Makers ran interactive workshops for the different year groups, where they learnt about structural engineering and built their own towers, and we rounded off the week with the whole school taking part in a dress-up day with the theme for costumes being ‘growth’. We saw flowers, animals, the solar system and many more excellent outfits around the building.

Thank you to everyone that has taken part and made British Science Week 2022 such a big success!

They then made their own designs inspired by what they had seen which they printed on to paper and then their own tote bag.
